This unit focuses on growing both crops and ornamental plants, guiding the cultivation and care of these varieties until they reach maturity for harvest. It also explores the structural characteristics of these plants, taking into account the various cultivation techniques, their life cycles, maintenance needs, and different applications. During my industrial training period, I had the opportunity to cultivate cassava, maize, and West Indian jasmine (an ornamental plant). I intercropped these species to maximize the benefits of each. The agronomic practices I implemented included: - Site selection - Land preparation - Planting - Fertilizer application - Maintenance/upkeep - Harvesting This hands-on experience deepened my understanding of plant cultivation and the intricacies involved in sustainable agricultural practices. Update (2024-11-04): This unit focuses on the cultivation of both crops and ornamental plants, emphasizing the processes involved in nurturing these plants until they are ready for harvest. It also explores the structure of these cultivable plants, considering various cultivation methods, their life cycles, the maintenance they require, and their numerous applications. During my industrial training period, I had the opportunity to cultivate cassava and maize alongside West Indices, an ornamental plant. I intercropped these crops, implementing several agronomic practices, including: - Selecting the site - Preparing the land - Planting the seeds - Applying fertilizers - Maintaining and caring for the plants - Harvesting the produce This hands-on experience allowed me to apply theoretical knowledge while deepening my understanding of practical agronomy.
