How does Achilles die? What is his one vulnerability, and what is its cause

In Greek mythology, Achilles is famously known for his near invincibility, which is attributed to his mother, Thetis, who dipped him in the River Styx when he was a baby. However, she held him by the heel, leaving that part of his body vulnerable. This is why the term "Achilles' heel" refers to a critical weakness despite overall strength. Achilles's death is most commonly attributed to an arrow shot by Paris, the prince of Troy, during the Trojan War. According to various accounts, the arrow was guided by the god Apollo, hitting Achilles in his vulnerable heel and ultimately leading to his death. This story, while popular in later retellings of the myth, does not appear in Homer's "Iliad," where Achilles' fate is left somewhat ambiguous but foreshadowed.
