The research was conducted with careful consideration of cultural sensitivity, particularly given the diverse backgrounds of the participants. Collaboration with community leaders allowed us to adapt our research methods to ensure cultural appropriateness, while also respecting local traditions and norms. Ethical considerations were paramount in safeguarding the well-being and rights of the participants throughout the research process. The primary ethical principle that guided the study was informed consent. Participants received comprehensive information regarding the study’s objectives, methods, and potential risks before they agreed to participate. Their consent was entirely voluntary, and they retained the right to withdraw at any time without suffering any consequences. Confidentiality was also a critical element of the research. Participants’ personal information, including their health data, was managed with the utmost confidentiality to protect their privacy. At no point during the study was any identifiable information disclosed. Furthermore, we upheld the principle of justice by ensuring that all participants were treated equitably and fairly. No group was subjected to unfair burdens or exclusion from the potential benefits of the study, ensuring that the findings could be equitably applied across different communities in the Upper West Region. Lastly, we implemented stringent data protection protocols. All data collected were securely stored and could only be accessed by authorized personnel involved in the research. These ethical practices reinforced the integrity of the study and protected the rights and dignity of all participants.
